"Film will never die while cinemas stay dark."

"Film will never die while cinemas stay dark."

Samuel Goldwyn

An e-learning platform for training film projectionists

Cinemas, film studios, distributors, film vaults, post-production, film festivals. In all of them you cannot do without a knowledge of the classic film print, the most durable medium humankind has ever developed.

A film print is handled with kid gloves. Literally. And now and then you have to let some light through it, to appreciate all the beauty of the film stock.

Career opportunities

The digital world opens up endless possibilities. Film grain has been replaced by the pixel, but nothing has replaced the importance of projectionists, technicians, editors and production staff able to work with digital film.

When such a specialist knows the professional standards, they will not be lost at any point in the life cycle of a digital film. Not even when left alone in the dark of the cinema.

History

Every film screening needs a projectionist. When cinema networks expanded after the war, the demand for trained operators produced a system of examinations and preparatory courses - a tradition of teaching this craft that runs, almost unbroken, to this day.
